Echodyne is seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to lead supplier-driven hardware and technology integration programs within the Program Management Office (PMO). The role bridges engineering, operations, sourcing, and external partners to deliver next-generation solid-state radar and sensing platforms for autonomous vehicles, uncrewed aircraft, drones, and critical infrastructure security.
You will lead strategic initiatives involving early-stage R&D, supplier development, and process optimization, often running in parallel with standard product programs. Key responsibilities include: leading cross-functional initiatives for custom hardware and components across supplier and internal engineering teams; defining and managing comprehensive development plans integrating technical milestones, supplier readiness, and risk mitigation; driving technology feasibility reviews and supplier evaluations; overseeing integration of custom supplier deliverables into internal development; assessing and maturing supplier processes and capabilities; promoting structured collaboration across engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing; conducting post-integration reviews for continuous improvement; and supporting strategic planning by identifying technical capability gaps and supplier dependencies.
The ideal candidate brings a systems mindset, deep technical fluency, and strong experience managing complex cross-functional efforts with both internal and external teams. Required qualifications include proven ability to lead complex, multistakeholder development programs involving custom or emerging technologies; experience driving supplier qualification, onboarding, and development for hardware components or assemblies; strong understanding of hardware development lifecycles and design-for-manufacturing principles; proficiency in building and managing integrated project plans; excellent communication and documentation skills; and strong organizational awareness in fast-paced environments.
Desired experience includes background in radar, RF systems, aerospace, automotive, or complex electromechanical systems; familiarity with PLM tools (Arena, Windchill); proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Confluence, Jira); experience with Agile or hybrid program execution; certifications such as PMP or Lean Six Sigma; and experience driving process improvements. A bachelor's degree in engineering, physical sciences, supply chain, or related technical discipline is required. Domestic and international travel estimated at 15–25% for supplier site visits, technical reviews, and onboarding activities.
