Simbe Robotics is building an AI-powered operating system for physical retail, combining autonomous robots and multimodal computer vision to transform stores into sources of actionable intelligence. The company helps leading retailers improve shelf availability, price and promo execution, inventory accuracy, and store team productivity.
You will serve as a Principal or Staff Robotics Perception Engineer, acting as a critical technical bridge between the Computer Vision and Robot Software teams. This is a high-impact individual contributor role with significant technical scope and influence across the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the end-to-end path from perception models and sensor data to real robotic behavior in production retail environments
- Translating computer vision capabilities into reliable navigation, localization, and calibration systems
- Improving robot autonomy and decision-making in dynamic, constantly changing store settings
- Developing customer-facing intelligence features that leverage perception data
- Collaborating with computer vision researchers and robot software engineers to integrate cutting-edge perception into deployed systems
- Ensuring perception systems work reliably at scale across diverse retail environments
You will work on challenging problems at the intersection of robotics, computer vision, and real-world deployment, directly impacting how Simbe's robots operate in thousands of retail locations.
