Veeva Systems is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join a founding team building a new AI-driven platform for life sciences companies to manage safety, regulatory, and clinical development. This is a rare opportunity to shape a product and engineering organization from the ground up at a $3B+ revenue public benefit corporation.
You will own full-stack feature implementation from design through production support, drive technical solutions in collaboration with product and engineering leadership, and mentor engineers across experience levels. The role emphasizes daily code contribution (Python-first), rapid problem-solving in complex domains, and establishing engineering best practices for a fast-growing team. You'll work in an AI-first environment—both leveraging AI for engineering productivity and building AI-powered features that solve meaningful problems in drug development and regulatory compliance.
Within your first year, you'll have live customers on the platform and a thriving team scaling behind you, directly accelerating how life-saving therapies reach patients.
Required: 12+ years of production software development with deep Python expertise; extensive experience building high-scale enterprise SaaS cloud applications; hands-on proficiency with modern open-source tools (Git, FastAPI, Pydantic); proven mentorship track record; excellent communication skills; unrestricted US work authorization (no sponsorship available).
