Salary: CAD 180,000 - 275,000 / annual
Veeva Systems is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join a founding team building a new AI-driven platform for life sciences companies. This role offers the opportunity to influence and grow a codebase and engineering organization from the ground up, with full ownership across the feature lifecycle from design through production support.
You will drive technical strategy and implementation for a product that applies AI in innovative ways to safety, regulatory, and clinical development challenges. The team operates with an AI-first philosophy: leveraging AI to enhance engineering productivity while maintaining strong engineering discipline, and building features that solve meaningful problems for customers bringing life-saving products to market.
Key responsibilities include full feature ownership across design, development, deployment, and maintenance; daily code contribution with AI assistance; collaboration with product and development teams on technical design; rapid problem-solving on complex challenges; defining and promoting engineering best practices; providing expert code reviews; and mentoring engineers at all levels to foster growth and excellence.
