Salary: USD 221,200 - 387,100 / annual
ServiceNow is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to design and implement AI-native security features and frameworks. In this role, you will produce high-quality design and code on aggressive deadlines for security features, leveraging AI appropriately without compromising quality or security. You'll provide guidelines and mentorship to application teams on implementing and designing security features and frameworks, and on the appropriate use of AI to achieve those goals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement comprehensive AI-native security features and frameworks by understanding customer problems, product goals, and technical requirements
- Collaborate with design and platform teams to deliver robust security features and frameworks
- Participate in all technical aspects of team deliverables, including quality, performance, maintainability, and scalability
- Communicate technical decisions (architecture and design) to business and engineering teams
- Provide mentorship and coaching to other software engineers

REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of experience designing and implementing security features and frameworks
- Experience building security features specifically for AI
- Experience leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, and problem-solving (using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact)
- Exceptional Java and JavaScript skills
- Deep knowledge and experience with leveraging and influencing industry standards for security, building security frameworks, driving their adoption, and implementing security features
- Passion for software development, problem-solving, coaching, and mentoring other software engineers
- Exceptional problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with a quick learning curve
- Strong written and verbal communication
- High energy and aptitude for learning new technologies
