Saviynt is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join its identity and access management platform team. The company builds AI-powered identity solutions that help Fortune 500 companies and government institutions manage and govern access to applications, data, and business processes.
In this role, you will architect and develop state-of-the-art enterprise identity cloud solutions, participate in requirements analysis and software design, and collaborate across internal teams to deliver complex, large-scale applications. You will be responsible for the full development lifecycle—from designing systems and writing code to testing, deployment, and documentation. You'll also serve as a technical expert, providing guidance on applications and supporting the team through code reviews, design reviews, and best practices implementation.
The position involves hands-on development with modern Java/J2EE technologies, REST/SOAP APIs, and distributed systems. You'll optimize database performance, manage API concurrency and rate limiting, and handle bulk data processing at scale. A key aspect of this role is building LLM and AI-driven systems, including multi-agent orchestration, and actively using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) as part of your daily workflow.
You will work in an agile environment, balancing the ability to start new programs from scratch while maintaining existing services. The role requires strong technical leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively across functional areas in a high-change environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 15+ years of experience in Java/J2EE technologies
- Hands-on expertise in core Java concepts (multithreading, design patterns, collections), Spring, Hibernate, Groovy, and Grails
- Proficiency with REST/SOAP APIs and Java-based distributed systems
- Strong RDBMS knowledge: query design, optimization, performance tuning, stored procedures
- Experience with code repository tools and Java debugging tools
- UI development basics: HTML, JavaScript, jQuery
- Database expertise in troubleshooting locking issues and performance bottlenecks
- API management experience: concurrency, rate limiting, throttling, performance optimization
- Bulk processing and large-scale data handling
- Experience building LLM/AI-driven systems with multi-agent orchestration
- Proficiency with AI frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, Transformers)
- Active use of AI coding tools beyond autocomplete
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering (MS/Masters in IT preferred)
- Proven team management experience: hiring, retaining, and leading high-performance engineering teams
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, leadership, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives and work with confidential information
