Koala Health is building a comprehensive pet health platform, starting with an online pharmacy service that delivers presorted medication pouches. The company is now expanding into a broader suite of pet health products and services.
As Principal Software Engineer, AI & Platform, you will serve as a technical leader across the engineering organization in a highly hands-on role. You will architect scalable systems, drive engineering quality and operational excellence, and lead the adoption of AI throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Architecting production systems that scale with business growth
- Raising engineering quality standards and operational excellence across teams
- Accelerating development velocity through strategic AI integration
- Establishing best practices for AI-assisted and agentic software development
- Mentoring engineers and guiding technical decision-making
- Leveraging technology to simplify complex operational workflows and improve customer experiences
- Working closely with engineering, product, operations, and company leadership to identify opportunities and define technical direction
- Driving execution on initiatives with company-wide impact
