Zscaler is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer to join its cloud security platform team in San Jose. You will work on the world's largest cloud security platform, serving 15 million users across 185 countries, focusing on enhancing the multitenant architecture and global footprint of the Zero Trust Exchange platform.
In this hybrid role reporting to the Director of Software Engineering, you will design, develop, and optimize high-performance systems including networking and security features. You'll apply strong software design principles and deep troubleshooting expertise to deliver scalable, resilient improvements to Zscaler's Zero Trust Security Services. Key responsibilities include creating design and functional specification documents, performing unit testing and automation, and collaborating with Engineering Architects, Product Managers, Customers, and Solution Architects to understand use cases and optimize system performance.
You will mentor and coach junior team members, ensuring the highest quality deliverables. You'll also work on federal certifications including FIPS, FedRAMP, Common Criteria, and SOC2 compliance.
