Salary: USD 190,000 - 210,000 / annual

10Beauty is a robotics startup that has raised $70M to build the world's first fully autonomous manicure machine. The company has already pre-sold 1,000 machines to major retailers including Ulta Beauty and Nordstrom, with the first robot launched at an Ulta Beauty location in Everett as of November 2025. The organization is a fast-growing 50+ person team with deep robotics expertise. As Principal Robotics Software Engineer, you will architect and deliver the core software systems powering the next-generation autonomous manicure robot. This is a highly technical role at the intersection of hardware and software, requiring someone passionate about robotics and energized by solving complex real-world problems in a startup environment. Key responsibilities include owning and evolving the long-term technical architecture of the robotic consumer product with focus on production performance and reliability. You will lead the design, development, and optimization of core software components, primarily in C++ on Raspberry Pi 4/Linux platforms. You'll serve as a subject matter expert tackling ambiguous, technically challenging system-level issues that cross electrical, mechanical, and computer vision disciplines. You will drive the technical roadmap for robotic control systems, exploring and integrating new technologies and algorithms. Additionally, you'll provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers, helping them grow and solve complex problems. Required qualifications include 8+ years of proven software development experience with a track record of successfully shipping multiple complex hardware products, ideally within robotics. You need deep expertise in C++ with mastery of system design, low-level debugging, and performance optimization. Demonstrated expertise in architecting and leading large-scale, real-time, and safety-critical embedded systems is essential. You should have proven ability to solve highly ambiguous and technically challenging problems in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Extensive experience with Linux-based embedded systems, hardware/software integration, and real-time constraints is required. Experience with embedded systems in a robotics or electromechanical context is highly preferred.
