Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Principal RF Systems Engineer to lead the design and integration of the RF (radiofrequency) power plant for SPARC, their flagship fusion demonstration reactor. The SPARC tokamak requires >25MW of 120MHz RF power to heat plasma to 100 million Kelvin and sustain fusion reactions. In this principal-level role, you will serve as a highly influential technical architect responsible for the high-level direction of the RF systems while remaining deeply hands-on. Your responsibilities include: - Architecting and integrating high-power electronics, solid-state RF amplification systems, and complex transmission networks - Driving technical decisions that ensure the SPARC RF plant achieves net energy gain - Collaborating across engineering disciplines to optimize RF delivery and plasma heating efficiency - Mentoring and guiding engineering teams on RF systems design and implementation - Contributing to the technical strategy for scaling RF systems to commercial fusion power plants This is a unique opportunity to work on one of the most ambitious energy projects globally.
