CesiumAstro is seeking a Principal RF Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced RF communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and aerospace platforms. This is a hands-on technical leadership role combining individual contribution with mentorship responsibilities.
You will own RF circuits, modules, and systems across the full development lifecycle—from concept through in-orbit support. Key responsibilities include:
• Board-level and system-level RF electronics design, including schematic design and PCB layout
• System-level communications architecture: link budgets, modulation schemes, end-to-end RF product development
• Phased array communication systems: RF front ends, frequency converters, synthesizers, filters, beamformers, power dividers, and antennas
• Full hardware design cycle: block diagrams, detailed schematics, PCB layout/routing, simulations, test design, manufacturing, and qualification
• Technical mentorship of hardware team members
• Customer and executive presentations of engineering design reviews
• Proposal writing and technical documentation
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in RF circuit design, phased array systems, and aerospace/satellite communications. You should be proficient in schematic capture, PCB layout tools, RF simulation, and have a track record of shipping complex hardware products. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for customer-facing and internal leadership activities.
