K2 Space is building the largest and highest-power satellites ever deployed, backed by $450M in funding from top-tier investors including Altimeter Capital, Redpoint Ventures, and T. Rowe Price. The company is mass-producing advanced satellite platforms for commercial, science, and national security missions, with multiple launches planned through 2026-2027.
In this Principal RF Antenna Engineer role, you will lead the research, design, and procurement of antenna elements and radiofrequency systems for some of the most powerful satellites ever built. You will be responsible for test and measurement of RF and microwave electronics across UHF through Ka band, including phased array antennas, low noise amplifiers, power amplifiers, filters, and high-speed converters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead research, design, and procurement of antenna elements
- Qualify radiofrequency and antenna hardware through environmental testing (vibration, shock, thermal, thermal vacuum)
- Design and validate RF and microwave hardware across multiple frequency bands
- Execute development and production tests to meet internal and customer requirements
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of antenna, RF, FPGA, DSP, software, mechanical, and electrical engineers
- Prototype systems and refine designs in a fast-paced environment
- Contribute to RF systems that support critical national security missions
This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will work directly with cutting-edge space technology and have your designs deployed in orbit within two years. The role requires a Top Secret clearance and offers the opportunity to shape the future of satellite communications and sensing at a rapidly scaling Series C company.
