Hydrolix is seeking a Principal Product Marketing Manager for Security to own the full lifecycle of security market positioning and go-to-market strategy. You will define the ideal customer profile, buyer personas, and market segments; build competitive battlecards and maintain market intelligence; develop positioning that articulates how Hydrolix fits alongside existing SIEMs and within the broader security data stack; and own security product launches from strategy through post-launch review.
Key responsibilities include:
**Strategy & Positioning**: Define security market strategy and point of view. Identify where Hydrolix wins and where it doesn't. Build the case for running Hydrolix alongside existing security tools and establish its place in the security data stack.
**Partner & Channel Focus**: Since the security motion runs largely through partners (MSSPs, MDRs, SecOps vendors), you'll develop messaging and enablement for partner sellers, technical teams, and end buyers. Support partner-led go-to-market motions.
**Competitive Intelligence**: Maintain battlecards, manage the competitive set, run win/loss analysis for security deals, and translate findings into messaging and product roadmap input.
**Customer Research**: Conduct direct conversations with customers, partners, and prospects. Bring their language, priorities, and buying patterns into messaging and product strategy.
**Launches & Enablement**: Own security launches using a tiered framework. Build reusable templates and playbooks. Develop talk tracks, collateral, and training for direct and partner sales teams. Maintain a single source of truth for security messaging and product availability.
**Pricing & Packaging**: Partner with Product and leadership on security pricing and packaging strategy. Bring competitive and customer input to inform decisions, then build messaging and enablement.
**Thought Leadership**: Develop Hydrolix's security perspective for publication and presentation, in collaboration with Technical Marketing.
**Cross-Functional Collaboration**: Work daily with Product Management, Technical Marketing, Content, Sales, Partner Marketing, and Growth. Maintain strong feedback loops between Field and Product.
**Reporting**: Track and communicate security go-to-market performance using pipeline, win/loss, and funnel data.
**Requirements**:
- Prior experience as a Principal PMM or equivalent-level title, with some experience in the Security market
- Startup or scale-up experience building messaging, launches, and enablement without a large specialist team
- Deep expertise in at least one of: SIEM, SOAR, log management, XDR, detection and response, or security analytics
- Understanding of how SecOps teams buy and how MSSPs and MDRs sell
- Technical depth sufficient to discuss log volume, retention, query performance, and data pipelines with practitioners (coding not required)
- Experience supporting pricing and packaging work, including competitive research and packaging messaging
- Writing samples demonstrating precise, defensible claims
- Comfort with funnel, pipeline, and win/loss data analysis
- Experience using AI tools for research, drafting, and analysis, with discipline to validate output
**Bonus Qualifications**:
- Partner-led or channel-led go-to-market experience, including technology alliances or cloud marketplaces
- Direct analyst relations experience
- Background in data infrastructure, observability, or data lake products
- Experience positioning technical products from early traction to recognized category leadership
