Docker is seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead Docker Sandboxes, a strategic product area at the intersection of developer infrastructure and AI-driven software development. You will own the long-term vision, roadmap, revenue, adoption, and results for this product line. Docker is a globally distributed, remote-first company trusted by 20+ million monthly users. The company is positioned at the center of how AI agents are redefining software development, providing sandboxed environments, verified images, and secure infrastructure that make autonomous workflows trustworthy by default. In this role, you will: - Own Docker Sandboxes' vision, roadmap, revenue, adoption, and business results - Engage deeply with developers building AI agents, coding environments, CI/testing systems, and other workloads requiring secure, isolated execution - Turn complex technical tradeoffs (isolation, startup time, performance, density, networking, storage, cost) into simple product experiences - Guide product definition, feature prioritization, and scope in collaboration with engineering, design, security, operations, and go-to-market teams - Work iteratively with customers and cross-functional teams to hypothesize, measure adoption, learn from releases, and improve the roadmap - Develop deep empathy for developer needs and maintain relentless focus on user feedback You will work closely with a small, fast-moving, distributed team where you are both a doer and a strategist. The role includes a 30-day onboarding focused on understanding Docker's vision and the Sandboxes team's strategy; a 90-day phase to clarify product vision and shape team roadmap; and a one-year outlook driving product initiatives that make secure, isolated execution simple and valuable for developers and AI agents. REQUIREMENTS: - Prior professional experience as a software engineer, ideally in systems, infrastructure, platform engineering, developer tools, or cloud - Deep technical familiarity with sandboxes/microVMs, containers, virtualization technologies, and hypervisors, including isolation and security boundaries - Understanding of modern developer infrastructure building blocks: Linux, container runtimes, orchestration, networking, storage, APIs, and cloud services - Experience designing, building, or operating systems that execute customer-provided, untrusted, or agent-generated code at scale - Experience building B2B or SaaS products, or background in public cloud and developer infrastructure - Understanding of software supply chain and security concerns: multi-tenant isolation, identity, secrets management, observability, reliability - Ability to break down complex technical problems into small, releasable, user-valuable features - Strong communication skills: explaining complex ideas simply, writing, verbal, and visual communication across diverse stakeholders - Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data to inform decisions, define success metrics, and prioritize investments - Collaborative approach with experience running products from greenfield to scale - Deep empathy for developer needs and obsession with talking to users - Comfort with command-line interfaces and discussing APIs, SDKs, and technical architecture with engineers
