Figure Technology Solutions is a blockchain-native capital marketplace for tokenized assets, with over $30 billion in originated loans and partnerships with 480+ companies. The company is the market leader in real-world asset (RWA) tokenization and has received triple-A ratings from S&P and Moody's on loan securitizations—the first of its kind for blockchain finance. Figure is recognized as one of Forbes' Top 50 Fintech Companies and CNBC's World's Top Fintech Companies. You will join as a Principal Product Designer, a senior individual contributor role focused on shaping the future of Figure's financial products, with primary emphasis on Figure Markets and the broader lending ecosystem. This role is for a designer who thrives in complex, ambiguous problem spaces—working on products spanning investing, lending, borrowing, digital assets, capital markets, and emerging financial infrastructure where the product model itself is often still being defined. Key responsibilities include leading product design for complex initiatives across Figure Markets while contributing to shared problems across Figure Lending and other products. You will take ambiguous or incomplete requirements and transform them into coherent end-to-end experiences, identifying missing logic, dependencies, edge cases, and opportunities. You'll develop deep understanding of financial concepts, customer workflows, business models, and technical constraints to simplify inherently complicated products. You will partner closely with Product and Engineering from early problem definition through implementation, helping shape requirements rather than simply designing against them. You'll explore multiple approaches to difficult problems, communicate tradeoffs clearly, and help teams make informed decisions. Your work will include designing sophisticated workflows, data-dense interfaces, account and transaction experiences, permissions, states, and other interaction models common to financial products. Beyond individual project work, your impact extends across the organization. You will help establish design patterns, improve how teams approach difficult design problems, mentor other designers, and raise the quality of product design across Figure. You'll identify patterns and opportunities that span individual products, helping create more coherent experiences across Markets, Lending, and future product areas. You will use research, customer feedback, product data, domain expertise, and cross-functional input to inform design decisions. You'll present work clearly to partners and senior leadership, explaining not only what you designed but how you arrived at the solution. Success is measured by your ability to bring clarity to difficult problems, improve team decisions, and create products that make sophisticated financial capabilities understandable and usable. **Requirements:** - 8+ years of product design experience, including significant experience owning complex products or major product areas - Portfolio demonstrating strong product thinking, interaction design, and visual craft across real, shipped experiences - Track record of solving complicated problems where requirements, customer needs, or the underlying product model were not fully defined at the outset - Strong systems thinking and ability to understand how decisions in one part of a product affect workflows, states, users, and systems elsewhere - Excellent interaction design skills, particularly for sophisticated workflows, data-heavy products, and multi-step experiences - Strong visual design fundamentals with high bar for typography, hierarchy, layout, information density, interaction detail, and overall product polish - Ability to independently drive work from early problem framing through detailed design and implementation - Comfort working closely with engineers and understanding enough about technical systems to make pragmatic design decisions - Strong communication and storytelling skills, including ability to explain complicated concepts and design rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences - Experience influencing Product and Engineering partners and constructively challenging requirements when a better customer or product outcome is possible - Collaborative mindset and ability to give and receive direct, thoughtful critique - Customer-first approach that prioritizes clarity, trust, and usability over novelty or personal aesthetic preference **Nice to Have:** - Experience designing fintech, trading, investing, lending, crypto, capital markets, payments, or other financial products - Experience working in regulated industries where compliance, permissions, disclosures, and operational constraints meaningfully affect product experience - Familiarity with institutional or professional financial workflows in addition to consumer products - Experience with products involving complex account structures, transaction lifecycles, roles and permissions, or financial data - Experience contributing to design systems and establishing reusable product patterns across teams - Familiarity with front-end technologies and modern product development workflows - Experience using prototyping and emerging AI tools to explore ideas, accelerate iteration, or improve design and development process
