Jane App is a founder-led, high-growth SaaS company based in North Vancouver, BC, serving thousands of clinics with practice management and patient engagement tools. The Communications group focuses on keeping clinics and patients connected through text messaging, secure messaging, and staff notification systems—bridging care between visits and helping practitioners spend less time chasing messages. You'll join a small, close-knit design team led by Janel, who emphasizes psychological safety, customer closeness, and strong cross-functional partnerships. The team is currently moving text messaging from beta to general availability, creating exciting new design opportunities. In this role, you will: - Own smaller projects end-to-end, from understanding the problem through shipping polished improvements, with mentorship from your product manager and design partners. - Bring craft and care to the Communications experience by shaping interactions and introducing delightful moments that make messaging in Jane feel polished and human. - Improve consistency across messaging surfaces by working within and championing Jane's design system. - Partner closely with developers, pairing day-to-day to ensure designs come to life as intended. - Participate in customer research sessions, turning clinic feedback into sharper prototypes and better solutions. - Build strong relationships with designers in neighboring groups and go-to-market partners. - Champion pragmatic, responsible AI adoption in your design practice, using tools like Claude Code to prototype quickly. You'll have regular career development conversations with your manager, and compensation will grow as you gain experience and contribute to Jane's mission. REQUIREMENTS: - Minimum 2 years working as a product designer in a commercial setting, with shipped features to customers. - Understanding of how product teams work, including design's partnership with product managers and developers. - Strong eye for interaction design and visual craft; comfort with details like states, transitions, and microinteractions. - Proficiency in both Claude Code and Figma; ability to work within a design system. - Bias to action, staying close to your team, anticipating what's coming, and picking up work without waiting for a ticket. - Curiosity and confidence to ask questions and speak up; openness to feedback. Note: Candidates who don't meet every qualification but are excited about the role are encouraged to apply.
