Graphcore, a leader in AI computing systems and member of the SoftBank Group, is opening a new AI Engineering Campus in Austin. This Principal Post-Silicon Validation Engineer role is critical to bringing cutting-edge AI chips and platforms to life after silicon manufacturing.
You will join the Post-Silicon Validation team within Architecture and Validation, responsible for validating new silicon upon return from manufacture, enabling production software and firmware teams, and supporting silicon characterization efforts. This is a technical leadership position where you will architect and drive implementation of continuous improvements to test infrastructure and processes while mentoring and providing technical guidance to engineering team members.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning, designing, developing, and debugging silicon validation tests in bare-metal C/C++ on FPGA/emulator prior to first silicon arrival
- Deploying and debugging validation tests on first silicon
- Developing automated test frameworks and regression test suites in Python to optimize validation efficiency
- Collaborating across disciplines to identify and debug complex failures and defects
- Contributing to shared test and validation infrastructure
- Providing technical feedback to architects and working with peers to implement best practices
- Reporting project status and progress to program management
Essential qualifications include strong experience in bare-metal and embedded C/C++, solid knowledge of digital ASICs, ability to work across teams and programming languages to solve deep technical issues, and demonstrated leadership in mentoring and driving technical improvements. You should be highly motivated, a self-starter, and collaborative team player with experience in silicon validation, FPGA/emulation, and test automation.
