Salary: USD 241,100 - 326,100 / annual

Graphcore, a leader in AI computing systems and member of the SoftBank Group, is opening a new AI Engineering Campus in Austin. This Principal Post-Silicon Validation Engineer role is critical to bringing cutting-edge AI chips and platforms to life after silicon manufacture. You will lead the post-silicon validation effort for new high-performance AI semiconductors, working at the intersection of hardware and software. Responsibilities include planning and developing silicon validation tests in bare-metal C/C++ on FPGA/emulator platforms prior to first silicon arrival, then deploying and debugging those tests on actual silicon. You'll develop automated test frameworks and regression suites in Python to optimize validation efficiency and identify root causes of complex failures. This is a technical leadership role where you'll mentor and guide other engineering team members, architect improvements to test infrastructure and processes, and collaborate across multiple disciplines—including production software/firmware teams, silicon characterization, and architecture groups. You'll report regularly on project status and progress to program management. The Post-Silicon Validation team sits within Architecture and Validation, responsible for validating new silicon upon return from manufacture, enabling production teams to bring up software and firmware, and supporting silicon characterization efforts. Essential qualifications include strong experience in bare-metal and embedded C/C++, solid knowledge of digital ASICs, ability to work across teams and programming languages to debug deep technical issues, and proven self-motivation as a team player. This role offers the opportunity to shape validation methodologies and best practices for next-generation AI hardware.
