True Anomaly is building autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors to secure the space environment and counter threats. As Principal Platform Engineer, AI & Infrastructure, you will be the most senior individual contributor and most trusted AI technologist on the platform engineering team, setting technical direction for how the company builds and operates with AI.
This is a high-leverage role focused on direction and impact, not research. You will steer the company's AI and infrastructure strategy, help set the vision for how True Anomaly uses AI to deliver space superiority, and bring the enterprise to the cutting edge of agentic engineering. While AI and infrastructure are your center of gravity, you will be a technical leader across all of platform engineering, shaping decisions on developer experience, CI/CD, DevOps, and compute infrastructure.
Your scope includes shaping the technical roadmap for the platform engineering organization, guiding high-level architecture and design of platforms and infrastructure, and advising teams across the business on AI implementation. You will support infrastructure, AI, and data teams, setting technical direction on AI providers and architectures, DevOps and CI/CD best practices, developer experience, and compute infrastructure decisions.
Beyond strategy, you will tackle the hardest, least-defined technical problems in the company where business needs are critical but solutions are undefined. You will frame problems, design systems, and deliver platforms that solve them. Reporting to the Chief Security Officer or VP of Platform Engineering, you will have direct visibility to executive leadership and shape how a fast-growing defense technology company operates.
You bring breadth across AI platforms, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, systems design, and technical decision-making. You partner with senior leaders, exercise cross-organizational influence, work through ambiguity, and mentor engineers to meet high technical standards.
