Datadog is seeking an experienced Principal Partner Manager to lead channel strategy and partnerships across South Europe, focusing on Global Systems Integrators (GSIs). This role combines strategic partnership development with hands-on sales execution, requiring someone who can identify and recruit new strategic GSI partners while enabling and activating existing relationships.
Key responsibilities include: identifying and recruiting new strategic Global SI partners to drive revenue growth; enabling and activating existing GSI partners through training, planning, and joint selling activities; coordinating technical and marketing aspects of integrated partnership launches; hosting regular business reviews with partners to drive accountability and report on success metrics; working cross-functionally with Datadog's regional enterprise and commercial sales organizations; and generating partner-sourced net-new sales pipeline and revenue.
The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of partner-facing, quota-carrying experience in business development, strategic alliances, or channel sales at cloud services or SaaS organizations. You should have proven experience driving sales opportunities from lead generation to closure, effectively negotiating agreements, and building long-lasting partnerships. Understanding of leading Global and regional Systems Integrators is essential, as is the ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and explain them clearly to diverse audiences.
You should be comfortable with 40-50% travel, possess an entrepreneurial mindset, and thrive in fast-paced growth environments. Background in SaaS, consumption-based software platforms, systems management, monitoring, containers, DevOps, and cloud environments is valued. A technical background or education is a plus.
