Anduril Industries is seeking a Principal Mission Systems Engineer to join the Air Dominance & Strike (AD&S) team. This role focuses on developing end-to-end autonomous air systems that deliver exceptional warfighter outcomes. You will be responsible for mission outcomes through payload and systems selection, sourcing, and validation.
Key responsibilities include conducting trades for communications, sensing, and effector systems to achieve mission objectives while collaborating with the broader AD&S team. You will architect autonomous multi-function, multi-mode payload and system solution concepts, including requirements, layout, interfaces, and employment strategies. The role requires adapting or deriving physics-based models of payload system performance in close collaboration with subject matter experts, and developing validated effects-based models for mission-level analysis.
You will take ownership of subcontractor and internal technical development efforts, working across Anduril teams to integrate capabilities. The ideal candidate has experience in payload conceptual development, selection, integration, and validation. You will begin with mission-level outcomes and drive solutions through rigorous modeling, domain expertise, and vendor engagement. This is a hands-on role combining strategic system architecture with detailed technical execution, from concept exploration through actual vehicle integration of next-generation autonomous capabilities.
Anduril's family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that transforms data streams into real-time 3D command and control. The company is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military at accelerated timelines.
