Salary: USD 180,250 - 196,751 / annual
Treeline Biosciences is seeking an experienced Principal Information System Engineer to join its IT team, reporting to the Director of IT Operations. This is a hands-on technical leadership role serving as the primary escalation point for the IT organization and secondary technical decision-maker for IT Operations.
You will provide strategic recommendations to leadership on tooling, standards, and vendor issues while maintaining hands-on involvement in complex technical initiatives. Your responsibilities include administering and optimizing cloud-based enterprise technologies across the organization, including endpoint management, identity and access solutions, and security configurations. You will manage Microsoft 365, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Entra ID environments with a focus on Conditional Access Policies and endpoint security. Identity and access management will be a key focus, including Okta and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) implementations to safeguard company systems and data.
You will develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate routine administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency. Working collaboratively with in-house engineers and Managed Service Providers (MSPs), you will support employees across multiple departments and countries. Documentation, ticket management, and knowledge base maintenance following ITSM processes are core responsibilities. You will design, implement, and continuously improve IT solutions in partnership with local and remote coworkers and vendors.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 8-10+ years of experience in systems administration, endpoint management, identity management, or IT operations
- Broad IT experience across Windows, Mac, Databases, Storage, Security, Networking, and public clouds
- Strong hands-on experience with: Microsoft 365 Administration, Microsoft Intune, ManageEngine Endpoint Central, Microsoft Entra ID (including Conditional Access Policies), Okta, endpoint security and device management, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and PowerShell (Basic to Intermediate)
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Track record of taking ownership in issue resolution
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and ITSM processes
- Experience working collaboratively with coworkers and vendors, both local and remote
- Patient, customer-focused mindset with commitment to service quality
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple issues simultaneously
- Preferred: Previous experience in biotech startup or biopharmaceutical environments; related certifications
