Cognite is seeking a Principal Information Security Engineer to establish and lead the company's security presence in Bengaluru, India. As the first security hire at this location, you will serve as a foundational cornerstone, blending elite technical execution with explicit high-growth leadership responsibilities.
You will own both Product Security and Security Operations (SecOps) functions, starting as a senior individual contributor while building and directly managing a world-class, multi-disciplinary security engineering team. A core emphasis is aggressive implementation of AI to automate and optimize SecOps detection pipelines and Product Security guardrails globally.
Key responsibilities include:
**Core Security Engineering & Automation:**
- Design and deploy AI-driven detection logic and incident playbooks to reduce alert fatigue and accelerate response times
- Integrate AI into SIEM/SOAR data pipelines to identify anomalous behavior across multi-cloud environments
- Implement automated code analysis (SAST/SCA) within CI/CD pipelines with AI-assisted remediation guidance
- Build proprietary security automation guardrails enabling developers to build secure-by-design software
- Lead threat modeling for high-stakes projects and harden cloud-native environments (AWS/GCP/Azure)
**Technical Leadership & Team Building:**
- Act as Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for regional security initiatives
- Navigate technical hurdles and make evidence-based decisions
- Hire and develop a high-performing security team
- Drive architectural innovation and operational excellence
You will bridge application security and infrastructure defense, working across multiple cloud platforms and identity management systems.
