The Principal Industrialization Lead is New Kensington's single technical owner for transitioning new work from design and development into stable, repeatable, high-quality production. This is a highly technical, hands-on leadership role where success comes through deep manufacturing expertise and cross-functional influence rather than managing a large organization.
Key responsibilities include owning the design-to-production transition for programs entering New Kensington, ensuring manufacturability is designed in from the start. You'll maintain integrated visibility into all incoming programs, replacing fragmented intake with a single coordinated view. You'll lead new program introductions (NPI), drive process development, tooling and fixturing, work instructions, and production readiness across all value streams. You'll identify and resolve cross-program and site-readiness dependencies across concurrent programs, serve as the early technical voice with originating sites and engineers, and embed standards and requirements to create a scalable, repeatable industrialization model.
You bring a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical field (or equivalent experience), plus 15+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering, industrialization, NPI, or production operations. You have demonstrated success owning product transitions from development into full-rate production, with deep hands-on knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling/fixturing, work-instruction development, and production readiness. You can lead multiple concurrent, technically diverse programs simultaneously and bring strong cross-functional leadership and influence skills with teams outside your direct authority. You're a proactive problem-solver with ownership and accountability mindset. Ideal candidates also bring experience across diverse product types and production volumes, high-volume/high-mix engineered manufacturing, site-readiness and facilities planning linked to program launch, Lean and continuous improvement experience, and multi-site manufacturing background. The role requires willingness to travel domestically 10–25% depending on business needs.
