Axiado, an AI-enhanced security processor company founded in 2017, is seeking a Principal Hardware Engineer to drive embedded computing system products from concept to production. This is a highly visible role with significant technical scope and influence across the organization.
You will own the full hardware development lifecycle: system design, hardware specifications, test plan development, and schematic capture using Orcad. You'll work hands-on with PCB layout, mechanical, and signal integrity engineers to complete designs, then bring up systems and execute engineering validation in the lab. You'll engage cross-functional teams in technical discussions, address complex technical challenges, manage concurrent workstreams, and drive hardware builds and procurement activities.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 4+ years of hardware engineering experience; 7+ years desirable
- Hands-on board design knowledge: schematic capture, PCB layout instructions, signal integrity
- Proficiency with design tools including Cadence Orcad and Allegro
- Thorough knowledge of basic interfaces: I2C, SMBUS, SPI, UART, USB
- Knowledge of high-speed interfaces: PCIe, DDR4/5, Display, Network interfaces
- DC-DC step-down converter design experience
- Experience with x86/ARM servers and their subsystems
- Hands-on lab equipment experience and design validation on products
- Strong debug and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Desirable: familiarity with firmware, Linux, and scripting languages
