Impulse Space seeks a Principal Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer to own all aspects of vehicle guidance and control systems across development and operational phases. You will architect GNC flight, test, and analysis systems for high-performance space vehicles produced at scale, including satellites in LEO and GEO, large upper stages, and landers. Key responsibilities include developing robust control algorithms for spacecraft, generating control verification data for Impulse's mission suite, and participating in GNC software development for both flight code and simulation environments. You will mentor other engineers, define best practices for vehicle control systems, and create tools enabling rapid mission realization. The role requires resolving complex technical issues with innovative solutions and communicating design needs, intent, and capability across the broader engineering team. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science field; 15+ years of experience in spacecraft control design and analysis; proficiency in MATLAB and C++; capability in control analysis across time and frequency domains; experience with vehicle-GNC design processes from concept through design reviews and implementation; and background in spacecraft operations. This is a senior technical leadership position at a space technology company focused on high-performance vehicle systems. You will work in a fast-paced, agile environment with significant technical scope and mentorship responsibilities.
