Celonis is seeking a Principal Enterprise Architect to lead solution design and technical strategy for enterprise customers. This role bridges Celonis' product and engineering teams with customer technical leadership, focusing on process intelligence and AI-driven modernization.
You will own the overall architecture, data, and cloud strategy for the company's largest client accounts, engaging directly with C-level executives to align technical solutions with strategic business objectives. Key responsibilities include designing transformative solution architectures that leverage Celonis' Process Intelligence Graph and emerging Agentic AI capabilities, assessing customer IT landscape maturity, and identifying technical blockers that unlock sales opportunities.
You will participate across the full customer lifecycle—pre-sales architecture reviews, post-sales implementation guidance, and expansion opportunities. You'll coach Celonis consulting teams and ecosystem partners on technical implementation, develop reusable architectural assets, and create customer-facing thought leadership content and position papers.
The role demands deep technical expertise combined with executive presence. You'll confidently present to C-suite stakeholders, translate strategic goals into actionable technical plans, and serve as a bridge between product/engineering and customer architecture and security teams. Success is measured by new customer acquisition, retention, upselling, and overall sales team contribution.
Required: 10–15 years of relevant experience as a software vendor architect, consulting firm CTO, or enterprise architect at a customer organization. Strong background in data architecture, integration patterns, and development experience with data languages (SQL, Python). Excellent communication, presentation, and technical skills with deep knowledge of cloud-native architectures, SaaS platforms (Salesforce, SAP, Dynamics, ServiceNow), system integrations, data operations, API ecosystems, and legacy enterprise systems. MSc in Computer Science or equivalent IT field required. Fluency in English; additional languages (Spanish, French, Italian) are advantageous.
Preferred: Celonis certifications, AWS/Azure/GCP certifications, ESB/ETL certifications (MuleSoft, Oracle, SAP, Talend, Informatica), and domain expertise in finance, manufacturing, supply chain, customer management, HR, or procurement across industries such as consumer goods, banking, pharma, aerospace, telco, or transport.
