Quince is a Series D direct-to-consumer fashion and accessories company founded in 2018, disrupting retail by offering high-quality essentials at low prices through a factory-direct model powered by AI, analytics, and automation. The company operates a complex global supply chain with short lead times, multiple vendors, fulfillment centers, and markets.
As Principal Engineer for Supply Chain Planning, you will lead the design and build of a new supply chain planning platform from scratch. This is a 0-to-1 role where you'll architect the production systems that translate data science forecasting models and optimization algorithms into the weekly operational cadence that runs the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and build supply chain planning platform infrastructure, starting with demand forecasting and expanding into logistics and warehouse optimization
- Partner closely with data scientists to understand forecasting models and optimization algorithms, then translate them into reliable, production-grade systems
- Create operator interfaces and controls that allow business teams to work alongside AI systems and override them when needed
- Build AI-native platform capabilities including AI-augmented operator interfaces, LLM-aided observability, agentic workflows, and AI-assisted incident triage
- Lead a small, highly capable engineering team
- Set technical standards and best practices for the team
You'll need deep systems thinking to handle the complexity of factory-direct operations, understanding of how to operationalize machine learning in production, and the ability to bridge the gap between data science and reliable business systems. This role requires someone who can own architectural decisions, mentor a team, and drive a 0-to-1 platform build in a fast-moving, high-impact environment.
