Printify (part of FYUL, formed in 2024 through merger of Printful, Printify, and Snow Commerce) is seeking a Principal Engineer to join the Merchant Experience team in an architect role. This is a high-impact individual contributor position focused on defining platform architecture and setting technical direction for the entire Merchant Experience pillar while influencing broader engineering strategy.
Key responsibilities include: owning architecture and technical decisions for the Merchant Experience pillar; reviewing and guiding architectural documentation to align with platform strategy; contributing to engineering-wide strategy through the Architecture Council; mentoring development teams through POCs and design guidance; investigating and solving architecture problems (performance, scalability, integration); mentoring team members on design techniques and coding standards; collaborating with fellow architects to establish cohesive practices; and serving as the Domain-Driven Design authority within the pillar.
Required qualifications: 10+ years software engineering experience (Staff/Principal Engineer, Lead Developer, or Software Architect roles); expert-level understanding of Domain-Driven Design principles and microservices architecture; strong problem-solving and communication skills; solid grasp of software fundamentals (data structures, architecture, design patterns, distributed systems); AWS or other cloud platform experience; fluent English (written and spoken).
Nice-to-have: expert PHP knowledge; PostgreSQL and MySQL experience; front-end technology understanding.
Tech stack: PHP 8+, Symfony, Doctrine, Yii; TypeScript, NodeJS (NestJS, Loopback, Ts.ED); Angular, VueJS; PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB; AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm; automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews; AI-assisted development with LLMs.
