Infinitum is a cleantech company developing next-generation air core motors that are significantly more efficient, lighter, and smaller than traditional motors while reducing carbon footprint. The Principal Engineer, PCB Technology reports directly to the CTO and leads the development and continuous improvement of Infinitum's PCB stators, serving as a key technical contributor to new stator design qualification, both in-house and with supplier partners.
Responsibilities include designing printed circuit boards for system testing, customer reference designs, and product characterization; designing, simulating, prototyping, and testing circuitry and systems; acting as liaison between PCB stator suppliers and R&D/Engineering teams; evaluating and characterizing new products; and creating technical documentation including datasheets and application notes. The role involves troubleshooting, optimization, and detailed failure analysis to drive design-for-manufacturability improvements and early-stage testing insertion. The engineer will direct the Stator CAM team, outputting NC and test data files for shop floor operations and process routes.
Additional responsibilities include supporting New Product Introduction efforts, writing complete specifications in collaboration with other organizations, transferring products to production seamlessly with Product Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing groups, staying current with latest semiconductor and assembly technologies, managing prototype builds and product characterization, designing evaluation boards and characterization fixtures, and recommending design modifications to eliminate malfunctions and improve robustness. The role requires independent work and cross-functional collaboration on various projects involving Infinitum motor platforms, with project management coordination to maintain schedules and plans.
