As Principal Engineer, you will be a key technical leader driving two strategic initiatives: Cloud Modernization and AI-enabled engineering velocity. You'll architect and ship production-grade LLM-enabled applications and agentic systems that solve real engineering and business problems in the payments domain.
Key responsibilities:
- Identify high-value AI use cases and enable AI-led development practices across engineering teams, delivering measurable outcomes.
- Design and ship agentic systems capable of planning, executing, and collaborating with humans safely, with robust governance and controls.
- Build core AI capabilities to scale adoption across the organization.
- Translate engineering pain points into AI-enabled solutions using sound architectural judgment.
Required expertise:
- Production experience designing and shipping LLM-enabled applications and agentic architectures, with clear judgment on when agents are and aren't appropriate.
- Deep knowledge of responsible AI governance: evaluation frameworks, data safety, prompt-injection mitigation, data access controls, secrets handling, policy enforcement, audit logging, offline/online evaluation, observability, red-teaming, cost/latency monitoring.
- Experience safely handling enterprise and PII data in AI systems.
- Strong point of view on practical AI adoption with ability to evaluate systems rigorously.
