You will serve as Principal Engineer reporting directly to the company's co-founder and Chief Architect. Your mission is to shape the technical direction and long-term architecture of Aidoc's AI-first development tools, driving meaningful change across the entire R&D department and setting standards for how engineering is executed at scale.
Key responsibilities include defining and driving long-term strategy for AI-first developer tools in collaboration with engineering leadership; developing and integrating tools leveraging the latest AI technologies to accelerate Aidoc's R&D organization; leading company-wide technical initiatives ensuring alignment across multiple teams; formalizing engineering best practices around performance, reliability, and observability; and evaluating emerging technologies to improve scalability, developer productivity, and system robustness.
You will lead complex cross-organizational initiatives while staying close to the code, ensuring architectural decisions are grounded in real-world implementation. The team operates in "startup mode"—close to users, delivering value through quick iterations while maintaining high engineering standards.
Required qualifications: 15+ years building software systems; proven track record in technical leadership delivering complex cross-functional projects; deep understanding of architecture, scalability, and operations of engineering organizations delivering enterprise software; experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and modern DevOps practices; strong coding skills in modern backend languages (Python, Go, Node.js, Java, C#); power-user proficiency with AI-first development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, agents, MCP servers); strong technical leadership skills to align technical directors and executives; and first-principles thinking ability. Experience delivering products to developers or highly technical customers is advantageous.
