Hims & Hers, a leading public health and wellness platform (NYSE: HIMS), is seeking a Principal Design Program Manager for International Packaging to establish and scale a design operations function across global markets. This is a rare opportunity to define a function from the ground up and set the standards that future design program managers will build upon.
In this role, you will drive strategic impact and organizational influence by establishing frameworks, decision-making models, and principles for how design operates globally. You'll operate as the internal subject matter authority on global packaging program management, providing strategic counsel to leadership, design, legal, and supply chain teams. You will contribute to process development, onboarding standards, and craft development of the DPM function as it grows, designing the operating system that enables great design at scale.
You'll design the global prioritization framework that surfaces regional urgency, regulatory deadlines, creative capacity, and business impact, enabling faster, better-informed tradeoff decisions. You'll build dashboards, briefing formats, and escalation paths that get the right information in front of the right leaders before problems emerge, influencing roadmap and planning decisions across design, supply chain, and marketing.
On the execution side, you'll architect and steer the end-to-end program model for packaging and print graphics across multiple regions (AU, CAN, UK) in close partnership with regional design and production teams. You'll serve as the connective tissue ensuring timeline integrity, dependency mapping, and risk visibility. You'll develop working knowledge of healthcare packaging compliance requirements across regions and embed compliance checkpoints upstream in the creative process, translating regulatory requirements into clear creative briefs.
You'll partner with designers from brief through final production, bringing broad fluency across print graphics production, structural packaging, and industrial design/CMF (color management, dielines, press-ready specs, vendor pre-press workflows). You'll build mechanisms—capacity dashboards, resourcing reviews, structured tradeoff conversations—that make the creative team's bandwidth and constraints visible to stakeholders, enabling proactive capacity conversations with leadership.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8-10+ years in design program management or creative operations, with meaningful time in healthcare, consumer goods, or a regulated packaging environment
- Proven track record building processes from scratch; energized by creating process infrastructure where little existed
- Broad packaging program expertise; owned programs from kickoff to press check and can identify where things typically go wrong
- Demonstrated organizational influence; shaped how a team or function operates beyond your own programs without relying on leadership
- Experience designing prioritization frameworks that stakeholders actually adopt—not just building Gantt charts, but shifting how an org makes sequencing decisions
- Cross-disciplinary fluency in industrial design, structural packaging, and CMF; credible partner across the full packaging design ecosystem without needing to be the deepest expert in any one area
- Proficiency with PM tooling (Asana, Airtable, Google Suite, Dropbox) and comfort reviewing work in Figma
