Precision for Medicine is seeking an exceptional Principal Database Programmer to join their European team in a fully remote, permanent position. This role is responsible for managing all programming aspects of clinical databases throughout the study lifecycle—from development and testing through implementation, maintenance, and post-database lock support.
Key responsibilities include designing, building, and supporting clinical databases; developing, testing, and validating programs to support client projects and third-party applications; and providing advanced technical support for internally developed applications and clinical databases. The role requires managing assigned projects end-to-end, ensuring on-time delivery, and communicating project status to internal teams and study sponsors. You will provide system administration, troubleshoot software and database problems, and develop study-specific validation documents.
Leadership is a core component: you will lead operational study teams and programming team members on assigned studies and programs, provide operational and technical training to end users and junior staff, and support onboarding of new hires. You will also participate in software vendor selection, conduct EDC demonstrations and trainings, and contribute to the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures related to data management and database activities.
Additional responsibilities include project forecasting, resource planning, budget management, identifying out-of-scope work, and presenting software demonstrations and training sessions. You will work closely with Data Management, Project Management, EDC vendors, clients, and third-party vendors to ensure regulatory compliance and gather requirements.
Minimum qualifications: 8+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of related experience. Strong expertise required in Oncology (Autoimmune disease experience is advantageous), Rave and Veeva platforms, Object-Oriented Programming (C#, C++, VBS), CDISC standards (CDASH, SDTM, ADaM), and clinical database management systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent organizational and communication skills, and professional English (written and oral) are essential. Clinical, scientific, or healthcare discipline experience and strong leadership/interpersonal skills are required.
