Precision for Medicine is seeking an exceptional Principal Database Programmer to join their European team in a fully remote, permanent position. This role is responsible for managing all programming aspects of clinical databases throughout the study lifecycle—from development and testing through implementation, maintenance, and post-database lock support.
Key responsibilities include:
• Oversee assigned projects end-to-end, ensuring on-time delivery and regulatory compliance
• Lead operational and programming teams on assigned studies and programs
• Design, build, develop, test, and validate clinical databases and supporting applications
• Provide system administration and advanced technical support for internally developed and third-party applications
• Manage project forecasting, budgeting, resource planning, and scope management
• Develop and maintain study-specific validation documents and SOPs
• Troubleshoot and resolve software and database issues
• Conduct training for end users and junior staff on databases and EDC systems
• Interface with internal teams, clients, vendors, and external partners (Data Management, Project Management, EDC vendors)
• Participate in software vendor selection and EDC demonstrations
• Support data management activities from CRF design through database close and archival
• Lead cross-functional and organization-wide initiatives
• Present at project meetings and conduct department training sessions
• Ensure all work complies with SOPs, government regulations, and industry standards
The role requires strong technical expertise in clinical database management systems, CDISC standards (CDASH, SDTM, ADaM), and proficiency with platforms like Rave and Veeva. Leadership and mentoring of team members is a core expectation.
