Precision for Medicine is seeking an exceptional Principal Database Programmer to join their European team in a fully remote, permanent position. This role is responsible for managing all programming aspects of clinical databases throughout the study lifecycle—from development and testing through implementation, maintenance, and post-database lock support. Key responsibilities include leading operational and programming teams on assigned clinical studies and programs, designing and building clinical databases in compliance with regulatory guidelines, developing and validating programs to support client projects and third-party applications, and providing advanced technical support for internally developed and external applications. The role requires close collaboration with Data Management, Project Management, EDC vendors, clients, and third-party vendors to gather requirements, provide status updates, and ensure database compliance. Additional duties encompass project forecasting and resource planning, providing input on clinical database design, troubleshooting and resolving software and database issues, developing validation documents, conducting EDC demonstrations and training, participating in software vendor selection, and supporting onboarding of new hires. The Principal Database Programmer will provide operational and technical training to end users and junior staff, present at project meetings and training sessions, and lead cross-functional initiatives as needed. Minimum qualifications include 8+ years of experience, a bachelor's degree or equivalent, strong experience with Oncology studies (Autoimmune disease experience is advantageous), and proficiency with Rave and Veeva systems. Required technical skills include Object-Oriented Programming (C#, C++, VBS), understanding of CDISC standards (CDASH, SDTM, ADaM), proficiency in multiple Clinical Data Management Systems, and experience with clinical database management system development. Candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills, professional English proficiency, strong leadership and interpersonal abilities, and broad knowledge of drug, device, and biologic development practices.
