AlphaSense is seeking a Principal Cloud DX Software Engineer to architect the next generation of CI/CD and deployment infrastructure for a global engineering organization of ~400 engineers. The Cloud DX team owns the complete software delivery pipeline—from code commit through production deployment—across hundreds of microservices running on hundreds of Kubernetes clusters in multiple regions and isolated deployments.
In this hands-on, organization-wide influence role, you will own the CI/CD and configuration management architecture, define reference architectures with performance profiles tuned per cluster scale, and establish progressive delivery standards including canary deployments, automated rollbacks, and safe-by-default releases. You'll make spinning up new production environments a templated operation rather than a custom project, solve version skew and release cadence challenges across environments moving at different speeds, and build the "paved paths" that enable product teams to ship anywhere without deep platform knowledge.
Key responsibilities include evolving the Internal Developer Portal and self-service experience, partnering with Cloud Platform, Security, and Compliance teams on delivery controls, setting technical direction across the organization, and mentoring Staff and Senior engineers. You'll also embed AI tooling into delivery workflows to drive lasting productivity gains across the engineering organization.
You bring 10+ years of platform engineering experience focused on CI/CD at companies with 250+ engineers, with proven ability to design and operate delivery systems at large scale. You're fluent in GitOps and declarative configuration, have hands-on production-quality software development experience, and are passionate about progressive delivery practices and cloud-native architectures. You genuinely embrace AI tooling in your day-to-day work and are motivated to push AI-assisted workflows throughout the SDLC.
