Graphcore is seeking a Principal Board Test Engineer to lead advanced manufacturing test strategy for complex Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs). In this senior technical role, you will define how Graphcore tests hardware before production and field deployment, directly shaping defect coverage, diagnostic resolution, and production quality.
You will design and direct comprehensive test strategies spanning optical inspection, X-ray inspection, in-circuit test (ICT), boundary scan (JTAG 1149.x, iJTAG), and functional test. Your work will influence product architecture, test methodologies, and partnerships with manufacturing and contract electronics manufacturers (CEMs). You will translate complex technical issues into clear decisions for engineering teams, suppliers, and partners.
As a senior individual contributor and technical leader, you will mentor engineers, set direction for test capability development, and help Graphcore build stronger test infrastructure for future AI compute products. You will work closely with design, manufacturing, silicon, software, and systems engineering teams in a hands-on, evidence-driven environment that values fast action, technical judgment, and ownership.
Required expertise includes deep knowledge of manufacturing test for advanced CCAs, electronics fundamentals, CCA manufacturing processes, and defect mechanisms. You must have strong experience architecting, programming, and debugging bed-of-nails MDA/ICT systems and board-level test platforms. You should be capable of independently defining test methods, evaluation frameworks, and technical criteria, with demonstrated ability to influence across engineering disciplines and external partners.
