6sense is seeking a Principal Architect with 12+ years of software engineering experience to own and drive the end-to-end architecture of large-scale, distributed systems. This is a senior technical leadership role focused on system architecture, technical strategy, and long-term platform evolution.
Key responsibilities include owning overall system architecture across multiple domains, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and performance. You will define and drive long-term architectural vision and technical roadmap aligned with business goals, design high-level system architectures, and act as a technical authority for complex architectural decisions and design reviews.
You will partner with Principal Engineers, Engineering Managers, and Product Managers to translate business requirements into robust architectural solutions. You'll establish and evolve architecture standards, design principles, and best practices across teams, identify architectural risks, and drive mitigation strategies.
The role involves enabling teams through hands-on guidance, reference architectures, and design frameworks rather than day-to-day coding ownership. You will drive adoption of modern architectures including microservices, event-driven systems, cloud-native patterns, and data platforms. You'll evaluate emerging technologies and guide adoption where they create long-term value, support scale-related initiatives such as performance optimization and system resiliency, and play a key role in technical leadership forums and architecture councils.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, 12+ years of software engineering experience with significant focus on system architecture and design, proven experience designing large-scale distributed cloud-based systems, deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, API design, and data modeling, strong experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, and ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across teams.
Preferred qualifications include experience with data-intensive, AI/ML, or big-data platforms, strong DevOps and CI/CD knowledge, familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes, prior Principal Architect or Staff Architect experience, and background in fast-scaling SaaS or enterprise platforms.
