GridStrong is hiring power systems engineers to work on compliance automation for the modern electrical grid. The company pairs hands-on power systems engineering with software solutions that help utilities and generators manage regulatory obligations.
In this role, you will develop and review EMT (Electromagnetic Transient) and RMS (Root Mean Square) models for generation and storage resources using industry-standard tools like PSCAD, PSS/E, PSLF, and TSAT. You'll support or lead PRC, MOD, and related NERC/ISO compliance studies across multiple jurisdictions including ERCOT, SPP, MISO, and PJM. A key differentiator is contributing to GridStrong's automated Model Quality Testing (MQT) workflows, which accelerate engineering work and enable scaling.
You'll collaborate with software and operations teams to translate engineering requirements into platform features. Depending on seniority level, responsibilities may include leading client engagements, mentoring junior engineers, and defining technical methodology.
The ideal candidate holds a BS or higher in Electrical Engineering with a power systems focus. You should have strong model development skills in PSS/E, PSLF, TSAT, and PSCAD, including tuning and benchmarking experience. Familiarity with NERC reliability standards and ISO/RTO interconnection processes is essential.
