Lightmatter is seeking a Power Integrity Engineer to join the Signal Integrity, Power Integrity and Packaging team. The company has invented the world's first 3D-stacked photonics engine (Passage™) for next-generation AI and HPC data centers, recently raising $400M in Series D funding at a $4.4B valuation.
In this role, you will drive power integrity design and analysis across digital, analog, and photonics domains. You'll support the design and analysis of Power Delivery Networks (PDNs) for high-performance SoCs, from voltage regulators to on-chip decoupling capacitors. Key responsibilities include modeling regulator characteristics, using commercial simulation tools (2.5D EM solvers) to extract PCB and package impedance profiles, and performing time-domain and frequency-domain simulations to evaluate supply rail behavior.
You will conduct lab measurements to validate power integrity designs using programmable loads and oscilloscopes, work closely with hardware designers and layout engineers to implement PDN improvements, and participate in design reviews. You'll help monitor PDN constraints during layout and support senior engineers in system-level tradeoff studies.
Required qualifications include an M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, 3+ years of experience in power delivery and power integrity analysis for high-performance CPUs and compute SoCs, and proficiency with simulation tools such as PowerSI, PowerDC, IDEM, H-Spice, and Keysight ADS. You should have experience in DC-DC converter design and PCB design considerations including layer stack-up, power plane partitioning, and capacitor placement.
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of 2D/2.5D/3D packaging technologies, familiarity with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, network analyzers), and proficiency in scripting languages (Skill, TCL, Python, Matlab).
