Salary: USD 105,000 - 165,000 / annual
Astranis builds advanced satellites for high orbits, providing dedicated secure networks to large enterprises, sovereign governments, and the US military. As a Power Electronics Test Engineer, you will develop, design, and implement comprehensive test systems and automated solutions for all custom electronics on Astranis spacecraft. Your work ensures that the company's suite of power designs functions reliably across diverse orbital environments, guaranteeing mission success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and designing automated hardware and software solutions to test and validate electronics hardware
- Designing PCBAs to interface with flight hardware
- Writing Python software to control bench equipment, devices under test, and other test hardware
- Collaborating closely with the design team to provide feedback and insights throughout qualification and acceptance processes
- Assisting in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional team members as the group expands
Required qualifications include an Associate's or B.S. degree in electrical or computer engineering (or equivalent), hands-on experience with electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, eloads), proficiency in Python, and experience debugging circuits with embedded software. You should be comfortable with ambiguity, thrive in fast-paced environments, and excel at translating high-level requirements into clear design and test objectives.
Bonus experience includes environmental testing (vibration, shock, thermal, burn-in, TVAC), power electronics design (switching converters, load switches), Altium Designer proficiency, electrical harness and connector design, and test automation experience.

U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status is required to comply with space technology export regulations.
