Infinitum is seeking a Power Electronics Hardware Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of power electronics systems. You will be responsible for designing and developing advanced power electronics systems including converters, inverters, and power supplies from concept to production, with emphasis on Variable Frequency Drive development and Active Front Ends.
Key responsibilities include:
• Design and develop advanced power electronics systems, including converters, inverters, and power supplies, from concept to production with focus on Variable Frequency Drives and Active Front Ends
• Optimize power electronics systems for efficiency, reliability, and performance through thorough analysis and simulations to validate designs
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in power electronics; evaluate and integrate new technologies that enhance product performance
• Oversee prototyping and testing of power electronics systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with other system components
• Ensure power electronics designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations; work closely with certification engineering team for certifications as needed
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to integrate power electronics solutions into overall product architectures
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including design specifications, test plans, and reports that meet company standards and regulatory requirements
The role demands deep understanding of power conversion technologies, a track record of successful product development, and the ability to work effectively with engineering teams to deliver high-performance solutions.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in power electronics design
• Strong knowledge of power semiconductor devices, magnetics, and thermal management
• Proficiency in simulation tools such as PLECS, SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar
• Proficiency with Schematic Capture using Altium
• Experience with PCB layout and design tools
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
