You will own the design, drafting, and ongoing maintenance of Tide's financial crime policies and procedures covering AML, counter-terrorist financing, sanctions, fraud, and anti-bribery and corruption. Working at a senior level within the Ongoing Monitoring function, you'll partner closely with stakeholders across Compliance, Risk, and Operations to ensure the policy framework stays current with UK regulatory expectations (FCA rules, Money Laundering Regulations 2017, JMLSG guidance) and reflects how the business operates. You'll translate policy requirements into practical, well-governed controls and support risk management across financial crime operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the end-to-end lifecycle of Ongoing Monitoring crime policies and procedures (drafting, reviewing, version control, approvals, periodic reviews)
- Designing and maintaining the Ongoing Monitoring control framework with clear mapping to policy requirements and regulatory obligations
- Monitoring regulatory developments from FCA, HM Treasury, OFSI, JMLSG and translating changes into timely updates
- Partnering with Ongoing Monitoring Operations, Product Teams, Second Line of Defence, and Risk teams to ensure policies are operationally workable
- Supporting internal audits, regulatory examinations, and assurance reviews with documentation and expertise
- Conducting gap analyses against new or changed regulation and coordinating remediation
- Providing SME guidance to the business on policy requirements
- Building strong relationships across first and second line teams for consistent policy application

REQUIREMENTS:
- Significant experience in financial crime compliance with focus on policy, procedure, or control framework design within a UK-regulated bank, payments firm, or fintech
- Strong working knowledge of UK financial crime regulatory framework including FCA requirements, Money Laundering Regulations 2017, and JMLSG guidance
- Track record of drafting and maintaining clear, practical policy and procedure documents, including managing governance and approval processes
- Experience designing or maintaining a financial crime control framework and supporting risk management activity
- Strong stakeholder management skills with confidence to operate and influence at senior level across Compliance, Risk, and wider business
- Excellent analytical and drafting skills—able to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable policy
- Experience with regulatory horizon scanning, gap analysis, and remediation planning
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth environment with competing priorities
- Experience supporting internal audits or regulatory examinations (highly desirable)
