As Claims Paralegal, you will support the full claims lifecycle across commercial accounts, reporting to the Head of Claims and working closely with Claims Counsel and Claims Managers. You will be responsible for preparing and submitting loss notices to carriers, gathering documentation from clients, tracking critical deadlines and carrier responses, and maintaining audit-ready claim files in the company's proprietary Agency Management System.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting claims intake and lifecycle management across GL, Cyber, D&O, Property, and Marine/Cargo lines
- Serving as primary point of contact for clients, providing status updates and coordinating between carriers, counsel, and vendors
- Assisting with coverage analysis by organizing policy forms, endorsements, and prior correspondence; drafting initial versions of notice letters and carrier correspondence for attorney review
- Supporting litigation and recovery efforts by tracking deadlines, managing document requests, organizing discovery materials, and compiling loss documentation
- Maintaining high-quality, audit-ready claim files with accurate documentation, communications, reserves, and key dates in the Agency Management System
- Preparing claims reporting and data, including loss runs, claim summaries, and dashboard inputs for renewal narratives and program reviews
- Collaborating with Claims Counsel, Operations, and Product to build templates, checklists, and automated workflows
Success in the first 90 days means becoming fully proficient with active claims and the Agency Management System, owning notice submissions and file maintenance with zero missed deadlines, and becoming the person the claims team relies on to track every claim's status.
Requirements:
- 2–5 years of experience as a paralegal or claims professional supporting commercial insurance claims, insurance litigation, or coverage matters within a carrier, law firm, or brokerage
- Paralegal certificate and/or bachelor's degree preferred
- Familiarity with commercial policy forms (GL, Property, D&O, Cyber, Marine/Cargo) is a strong plus
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with ability to manage high volume of active matters, deadlines, and documents
- Strong writing and communication skills; ability to draft clear correspondence and interact professionally with clients, carriers, adjusters, and outside counsel
- Tech-savvy and process-minded; comfortable with claims or matter-management systems and eager to use automation and AI tools
- Collaborative and proactive; thrives in fast-moving startup environment with strong judgment, humility, and bias toward action
