Anthropic is seeking a Podcast Media Manager to own how Claude, their AI assistant, shows up in podcasts—one of their most important channels for reaching professionals and knowledge workers. This is not a traditional media buying role. You will build a refreshed, proactive podcast strategy: securing the right shows before they're obvious, going beyond standard ad reads, and creating unique partnerships that fully integrate the product into shows in ways no other brand is doing.
You'll own the podcast program end to end, from annual strategy and show selection through network buys, scripts, pacing, and reporting across 100+ shows. You'll sit on the influencer marketing team and partner closely with growth marketing on performance goals and in-house campaigns, brand marketing on major campaign flights, enterprise marketing on B2B buys and scripts, creative and copy teams on reads and refreshes, and comms teams on messaging.
Key responsibilities include: setting podcast strategy proactively rather than reacting to inbound pitches; leading podcast strategy flights for major campaigns end to end; managing network buys across major audio publishers (Spotify, Amazon, NYT, and others); developing year-long buys with top shows, identifying and pitching partners before they approach you; building partnership packages that go beyond ad reads to include bonus episodes, video, live events, and social; serving as the main point of contact for creative and copy teams on podcast work and establishing repeatable processes for scripts; managing voice-actor reads and QA spots before they air; developing a refresh cadence for reads so messaging stays current across 100+ shows, tailored to each show's audience; managing agency relationships and pushing partners to deliver the best rates, placements, and ideas; tracking pacing across buys and shifting budget as performance data comes in; presenting results and learnings to the team regularly; and partnering with growth, brand, and enterprise marketing to align podcast plans with performance goals, campaign flights, and B2B objectives.
Anthropics's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems that are safe and beneficial. The company is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
Minimum qualifications: Deep experience in podcast media buying at a tech or consumer company with a substantial podcast budget; direct in-house management of podcast programs, not only through an agency; experience running both agency partnerships and in-house podcast programs, knowing how to get the best work out of each; skilled at managing and pushing media agencies to secure strong rates, placements, and ideas; ability to spot up-and-coming shows before they're obvious and back your picks with clear rationale; creative ideas that go beyond the standard ad read, from bonus episodes to live events to product integrations; comfort owning the details of execution (scripts, QA, pacing, reporting) alongside long-range strategy; ability to work well across many partner teams and build repeatable processes that scale; enjoyment of shaping a program from the ground up rather than maintaining an existing playbook; excitement about Anthropic's mission to develop AI that is safe and beneficial.
Preferred qualifications: Experience negotiating year-long or multi-format partnerships with top shows or networks; background in copywriting or close collaboration with creative teams on host-read scripts; familiarity with B2B audiences and enterprise-focused podcast buys; experience with podcast measurement, attribution, and incrementality testing; relationships with major audio publishers, networks, and independent hosts; experience extending podcast partnerships into video, social, or live formats; familiarity with AI products or the broader developer and knowledge worker audience.
Minimum education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in a field relevant to the role.
