FreedomPay is seeking a Platform Operations Analyst to maintain and support its Commerce Platform, which serves major enterprises across retail, hospitality, gaming, sports, entertainment, foodservice, education, healthcare, and financial services. The role is critical to ensuring 24/7 platform availability and reliability across a global, unified technology stack.
You will be responsible for monitoring system health, availability, and latency across FreedomPay's production environment. Key responsibilities include participating in a shared on-call rotation (including off-hours and weekend coverage), collaborating with infrastructure and development teams to diagnose and resolve service degradation, and identifying root causes of issues. You'll work with third parties, partners, and internal teams to communicate technical issues effectively, create and refine alerts for production systems, troubleshoot failed scheduled jobs, and maintain knowledge base documentation. The role emphasizes reliability as a core value and requires you to develop deep understanding of FreedomPay's platform and custom application stack. You will also be expected to adopt AI tools and emerging technologies to increase efficiency and business impact.
FreedomPay operates offices in Philadelphia, Las Vegas, and London, with employees across 16 states and 7 countries. This is a hybrid role with periodic office travel expected; frequency varies by role and responsibilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in a similar role within financial services technology, transaction processing, or related area (preferred)
- Technical experience in web-based platform environments with understanding of network, database, and application layer dependencies
- Strong understanding of transaction processing concepts, payment gateways, and related technologies
- Experience supporting real-time transaction processing applications (advantage)
- Proficiency with Application Performance Monitoring platforms (Dynatrace, Splunk, SolarWinds, or similar)
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server product stack (desired)
- Knowledge of API integration, data analysis, and reporting tools (advantage)
- Strong problem-solving abilities and experience with problem management processes and post-incident reviews
- Familiarity with risk management principles in transaction processing, including fraud detection and prevention
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Willingness to stay current with fintech and transaction processing trends and best practices
NICE TO HAVES:
- Knowledge of networking protocols (DNS, HTTP, load balancing, web servers)
- Experience with Azure Cloud
- Experience with RunDeck Scheduling System
- Prior experience with AI-powered tools to improve productivity and automate routine tasks
