The Platform Engineering team builds the core systems and infrastructure that power Revolut's backend. As a Platform Engineer, you'll contribute to foundational systems including the event store and transactional infrastructure that other engineering teams depend on. Your work directly impacts the entire engineering organization—small improvements at this layer compound across the company.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and scaling core backend systems that serve multiple teams
- Writing high-throughput, concurrent production code
- Solving cross-team infrastructure problems
- Code review and system design mentorship for other engineers
You'll need 7+ years of backend engineering experience with production fluency in Java (or another backend language with readiness to transition to Java). A computer science, mathematics, physics, or equivalent degree is required. You should have a proven track record building foundational platforms or core systems that other engineers build upon, plus meaningful experience with distributed systems at scale.
Desirable experience includes fintech or high-volume transactional environments, startup/scale-up backgrounds, production event sourcing, and open-source contributions to frameworks or developer tools.
Compensation for Krakow and Poland locations: PLN 41,500–46,200 gross monthly, determined by qualifications and experience.
