Mollie is a fast-growing European fintech serving 250,000+ businesses with payments and money management solutions. As a Platform Engineer II in the Edge & Networking team, you'll own critical infrastructure components that form the main entry point for all customer traffic, directly supporting the payment processing path.
You'll join the Developer Enablement domain, responsible for building and maintaining a custom GCP-based infrastructure platform. Your work ensures every transaction is handled securely, reliably, and at scale. You'll design and operate highly available systems, optimize the Edge API Gateway for seamless performance, and scale the Mollie Cloud Platform (MCP) through infrastructure-as-code automation. You'll collaborate across engineering teams to set and maintain SLOs/SLAs, drive observability using Datadog, and act as a technical decision-maker and problem-solver for the broader organization.
You bring 4+ years of platform or infrastructure engineering experience, ideally with a background transitioning from software engineering to DevOps or extensive network management. You have deep expertise in cloud networking and Kubernetes, managing complex infrastructure at scale on GCP, AWS, or Azure. Strong programming skills in Go or Python enable you to build automation and tooling. You're proficient with Infrastructure as Code, comfortable making high-stakes decisions, and proactive in identifying technical challenges. Nice-to-have skills include API Gateway experience, messaging systems (RabbitMQ/PubSub), PHP/Java familiarity, and basic Lua programming.
Mollie emphasizes personal growth with regular feedback, transparent salary reviews, and internal mobility. The company culture centers on "Always Be Shipping" with AI integrated across all teams to accelerate delivery and decision-making. Note: relocation and visa support are not provided for this role.
