As a Platform Engineer on the Platform Engineering team, you'll own the tooling, automation, and infrastructure that development teams depend on to build, deploy, and run software. This is a full-lifecycle role spanning self-service platform development, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to internal platform tooling and automation used across the engineering organization
- Developing and maintaining infrastructure as code using AWS CDK to ensure repeatable, reviewable AWS environment provisioning
- Extending CI/CD pipelines, including migration from CircleCI to GitHub Actions
- Supporting runtime environments across Lambda, ECS, and EKS, with focus on expanding Kubernetes-based workloads
- Operating and supporting data and streaming infrastructure including Redshift, RDS, Kafka, Flink, and Redis/Valkey
- Assisting development teams with incident response and infrastructure troubleshooting
- Improving observability, monitoring, and alerting via Datadog
- Documenting platform capabilities and enabling developer adoption
You should have a strong working understanding of AWS and cloud infrastructure fundamentals (compute, networking, storage, IAM), hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, working knowledge of Kubernetes and containers, familiarity with CI/CD tooling, and comfort with at least one programming or scripting language. Experience with AI coding agents (like Claude Code) is valued. A collaborative, developer-focused mindset and pragmatic problem-solving approach are essential.
Nice-to-have skills include platform building/operating experience on EKS, observability tooling expertise (Datadog), familiarity with data/streaming systems, and cloud security/compliance knowledge.
